Dive Organisation

​For the first dive of the day we meet at 08:15h at the equipment room next to the Calypso Hotel. Thanks to the early start we often reach the dive sites first, and have a relaxed time and the opportunity to explore the beautiful underwater world without many other divers around. The afternoon dive starts at 13:15h.
You decide whether you wish to do one or two dives (morning and/or afternoon). Please just register with us in the shop the day before, to help us plan suitable dive groups for all our guests.
Night dives are being organized upon request several times per week.

The most suitable dive site will be chosen on a day-to-day-basis together with your instructor. The wind and weather conditions, as well as your personal requirements and the experience of the group are the determining factors. Safety and your requests have absolute priority; hence we prefer flexible planning instead of a stiff weekly schedule. For the shore dives, we will reach the dive site with one of our vehicles which often means a little "sightseeing tour" over the island included on the way.

Furthermore we offer full day trips on a hard boat to Comino (May-October) and dives off our RIB.

We also offer private photo dives with the photographer Pete Bullen, designed to give photographers the time they need to take the perfect shot. Additionally Pete will be happy to give you advice on taking even better photos! Please contact us for more info and prices.

Safety

When diving with us, safety comes first! Therefore, the choice of dive sites might sometimes be limited depending on your abilities and qualifications. We always aim to have divers with similar skills, experience and interests in the same group, not exceeding 6 divers. The maximum depth for appropriately trained and experienced divers is 40 metres.
There is oxygen available in all vehicles in case of an emergency. The nearest hyperbaric chamber is situated in the town Victoria, no more than a 20 minute drive away from each shore dive site.
Our additional safety feature is "Nitrox For Free" that we provide for every accordingly certified diver. If you do not yet hold a Nitrox certification, find out here how easily you can improve your safety when diving and get certified during your holidays.
 

Diving and Health

Under Maltese regulations, any guest diving with us - be it an intro dive, a dive course, accompanied or unaccompanied diving – must confirm their fitness to dive by filling in and signing a medical screening statement upon check-in.
 

The presentation of an annual Medical Certificate which declares you as “FIT TO DIVE” is mandatory for divers who

have any condition that could be a contra-indication for diving (i.e. any “yes” in the medical statement). For divers of 60+ years a medical check up before diving is recommend by Maltese law.

It remains in our discretion to refuse diving with you in case of certain indications. In general we recommend you to see a physician for an overall

check-up before you take up diving.
